When the world was shaken by the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, many businesses were left grappling with unforeseen challenges. Among them was NEP, a global company with many business units one of them deeply ingrained in the physical events business. As the global health crisis brought their operations to an abrupt halt, they found themselves facing a significant dilemma. Their clients were in desperate need of an alternative, integrated solution that could circumnavigate the restrictions on physical gatherings.
As problem-solvers dedicated to addressing our clients’ needs, we swiftly initiated intimate brainstorming sessions with NEP to understand their specific requirements and aspirations. The objective was clear: to design a digital platform that could emulate, as closely as possible, the rich, interactive experience of physical events and even enhance this experience wherever digital allows it.
Our concept encompassed a broad range of features to facilitate a seamless virtual event experience. This included live streaming capabilities, networking tools, and video calling options for conference visitors. Moreover, we incorporated a function that would allow users to set their own schedules, bringing the personalization and flexibility of physical events into the digital realm.
With the concept in hand, we proceeded to actualize the platform, ensuring it was robust and scalable to accommodate a multitude of users. The true test of our efforts came when ASML, a renowned technology company, hosted their yearly global internal event on our platform. Thousands of participants engaged simultaneously, watching presentations, commenting, applauding, and networking, all in real time. The platform held firm under the tremendous volume of traffic, successfully facilitating a global event of significant scale. This moment marked a triumphant victory: amidst the turmoil of a pandemic, we had succeeded in bringing people together.
